Biography
Shivani Chauhan Barooah has done her M.A in Social work from Delhi School of Social Work, University of Delhi and subsequently her M. Phil and Ph. D. in Social work from University of Delhi . She was awarded the UGC NET-JRF in social work in 2003. Shivani has a keen interest in languages and was awarded the Alliance Française de Delhi and French Embassy Scholarship for “Best student (2007) of Alliance Française de Delhi” for Higher Studies in France in 2008. She completed her Master 1 (Sociologie) from Université Pierre-Mendès-France-Grenoble2 in 2009. She obtained the DALF C2 in the French language in 2009 and subsequently the DAEFLE (Diplôme d'aptitude à l'Enseignement du Français Langue Etrangère-Diploma of Teaching of French as a Foreign Language) in 2010. She is actively engaged in teaching, fieldwork supervision, research supervision, fieldwork coordination, and administrative activities at Tata Institute of Social Sciences-Guwahati Off-Campus. Shivani is an Internal Committee (IC) member under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal), Act-2013, at Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL), Dispur Polyclinic and Hospitals Pvt. Ltd . and Guwahati Refinery, Indian Oil Corporation Limited. She has also attended/completed the following trainings/workshops and courses: Participant at the Master Trainers' Training programme organized by School of Vocational Education , TISS Mumbai from June 17, 2015- June 20, 2015. Participant and Junior Coach at the Impact Week North East India 2018 organized by Indian Institute of Entreprenuership, Guwahati and Impact week from December 12, 2018 - December 20, 2018. Successfully completed and received a passing grade in SW47x: Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies a course of study offered by HarvardX , an online learning initiative of Harvard University on August 28, 2020. Participant in the Online Workshop “ Radical Transformational Leadership for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” 2021 Successfully completed one week online Faculty Development Programme on “ National Education Policy 2020: Re-Envisioning Higher Education in India” fr om 30 August- 07 September, 2021 conducted byTeaching Learning Centre, Ramanujan College, University of Delhi in collaboration with Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas under the aegis of Ministry of Education, PMMMNMTT Attended the 5th Short Term Course on Gender Sensitization and Social Justice , organized by the UGC Human Resource Development Centre- Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi from November 8- November 13, 2021 Participant in the Online Workshop “ Radical Transformational Leadership Here and Now 2021" Successfully completed the " RTL-Stewardship for Radical Transformation: Stage -II 2021-22" in online mode. Successfully completed the " RTL Practitioner Coach program for 2022 " in online mode.
